    Choose your side, comment on why you like it if you want. Looks don't count, but if it's easier for you to use because of them then you can use that.

    But if I *had* to choose between kde or gnome, given current versions, I think kde is a little nicer to work with. That being said, gnome has been the "open source" favorite for years, due to kde having the potential for licensing-issues using qt. (don't argue with me about it, I know it's free now.... But it has been a concern)

    just used to gnome i guess...to me its just a lot eaisier to navigate and its a much prettier interface.

    i usually just use whatever desktop is included with the linux distro. if both are available, i'll pick KDE, but they seem very similar to me :dunno:

    But Gnome > KDE.

    I use GNOME, but my favorite apps are KDE-based. I love them all.

    I prefer KDE. I'm not sure I can explain why, though; it just rubs me the right way. It uses terminology that makes sense to me and GUI elements are where I expect to find them.
