i haven't been getting shit lately, but it doesn't go down per se - it is p2p so everyone would have to go down. people probably just aren't using it as much or isp's and colleges are probably closing the ports it uses. time to find something else

I'd recommend ARES for your P2P needs, its the same idea as Kazaa but less spyware.

I wouldn't recommend IRC to anyone who doesn't have someone helping them configure it and getting connected. It's extremly complicated to move navigate and at least the experience i had .... the community couldn't care less and won't help you. Some tutorials for IRC that i've found online are extremly stupid and skips steps to get you started ... all in all if someone is not there to help you get started i'd strongly recommend to stay away from IRC.

kazaa lite (K++) is 100% free of spyware -- that's the point.

But I say you stear clear from any p2p filesharing networks. Many many viruses going around because of em.

Meh, we all knew this was coming when Sherman Networks sent that DMCA notice to the K++ team. It was only a matter of time before they simply locked out the client. If that's what it turns out to be, I would only be shocked by how long it took them to do so.

Personally, I've not used any P2P client (sans WinMX once for a Napalm Death fix I was on..lol) in almost 2 years. I just hunt down good BitTorrent resource sites and I'm good to go.
