  1. just turned 21 and cant wait to buy a pistol.

now i just have to decide what to get. :noes:

i'm thinking a glock in 9mm, not sure which model yet. i wanted a 1911 style pistol but i don't think i can afford the .45 ammo.

    soon to be wmd crew.

You can always get a 9mm 1911 too. Will you be carrying?

  10. I wish I could carry but I can't in the Peoples Republic of Maryland.

I like the look of the 34 and since I wont be carrying why not eh?

edit: however after college I will get stationed in another state so possibly later on down the road.

Go and handle everything you can. Shoot what you can. Figure out what is comfortable in your hand and what feels best to you. You might not like the feel of Glock. Maybe a Sig feels better. Maybe a Beretta. Handle/shoot as many as you can and decide from there. If you are in the military you must have some friends who have different pistols, see if they will go with you and let you try them. At least pick their brains for their experiences.

Where exactly are you? On Target in Severn (between Ft Meade and Arundel Mills) has a pretty good selection and will rent a lot of different guns. They have a range on site. I shoot there all the time it is not a bad place to get some trigger time.

i suggest a glock 26 with the "pinky hinky" as they are sometime refered to, the pinky extention.

i feel your pain, MD sucks when it comes to firearms. my sister lives there i am only 1 state away, so every time i visit her i am torn whether or not to carry and break the law, or be a sheeple......

but sheeple never get hurt, right????

  18. Yeah I've shot there before and the people that run it are kind of eh. I have shot all of the above and will probably end up with the Glock but I want to shoot a Sig again before I make a final decision. I don't even know how long I have to wait to get a pistol in MD. I should look into this haha.

I wouldn't buy from them I don't think but it is one of the few local places that rents guns and you can shoot on site.

Either way get something you are comfortable with and shoot, shoot, shoot.

But if you are willing to iron them out they are sweet. I've got mine dialed and broken in and ready for Washington State IDPA Championships.

He'd be better off with the G19, after you add the pinky extension the G26 is the same height but hold 3-4 rounds less.
