Jesus fuck took forever to get it together, better get fucking approved.
good luck, i was kind of for a while there.
I must have been lucky though, took a couple days before it was sent back telling me to go get a opthalmologist consult. Once they got the consult papers (maybe 2 weeks later), it was approved the same day.
Motherfucker! I was just informed that no ROTC scholarship funds will be available for newly contracted cadets, that means me, because Cadet Commend froze all funds. Now I'll have to fucking transfer, Fuck!
wait, what? when? why?
i was just about to contract in
Don't know why, I'm guessing they are running out of money. I was told all Freshmen and Juniors contracting after June cannot get the scholarship because the funds were frozen indefinitely. I was also told there is another way to get 100% tuition assistance, but it requires you to serve more time active.
its a tarp bro
FUUUU if I want tuition assistance I will have to serve 8 years active duty instead of 4. Not doing that, looks like I'm transferring god dammit.
Anyone know if it would be too late to join the Guard through the SMP program? I wouldn't be able to go to boot until the summer after junior year, and during the same summer I have to go to LDAC for ROTC.
if im ever pissed about the gay shit the military does to me, i can always count on one of your threads to cheer me up
Cadet Command said they will have a decision by tomorrow. Hopefully they do this time, they missed the last deadline they gave themselves...
I'm sure you could get tuition here in Baltimore!
I'm actually looking into Towson if I transfer.
Boo, go Hopkins, UMBC, UB, Stevenson or Micah haha.
Well wherever I go, it's gotta be a state school so it will be cheap!
UMBC, UB. Towson is a fun school though I can't talk shit on it, but it would be cool if I got you into our program.
I'll keep it in mind if I decide to transfer. If you don't mind me asking, what year are you? I will be an MSIII.
MSV haha. I finished my obligation last year and have one more semester to get my major. Switched majors like 3 or 4 times until I finally got the right one. Commission in December .
nice! congrats, even if i do transfer, we won't be in it at the same time though lol
that's fucked, bro.
I just got contracted about a week ago. My battalion went from 120 cdts in spring 2009 to 160 cdts in fall 2009.
If ROTC is tight with their budget right now, then why are they still recruiting? Cadres just did a recruiting drive at the beach about 3 weeks ago.
why not just get a guard scholarship?
i'm assuming you were applying for active duty scholarship
My waiver was approved!
I want to go active duty. I'm just going to contract and hope fund are available before next semester. If not, I'll just bury myself in loans.
i can't imagine waking up early 3x/week for PT, then spend a whole day every friday for training, and doing it for free.
I dunno, I enjoy waking up early to workout, and I don't mind FTX's. They are annoying but I always learn a lot. I'll still get the stipend too.
