so far it's just spamming flurry/sniper shot/attack and heal somewhere in between. is that basically how it always is? just beat DA:O and people said that KOTOR is better, but i'm finding the micromanagement to be kinda retarded :o

I just bought KOTOR during the $2.49 sale but I found it way too corny and simpleton to enjoy. I'm sure it was great back in the day but it sucks by today's standards.

I never really understood the "dungeons and dragon" style of how it all worked.... I just got a weapon with a higher number (light sabers were the strongest) and kept hitting my strong attacks.

It was a fun game. Theyre making a new KOTOR MMO :coolugh:

It gets much better, and the story is simply amazing with one of the most famous plot twists in gaming history.

I havent played it in a while and I'm sure it hasnt aged well, but its still a pillar of gaming that should be experienced.

 its definitely not better than DA. and yea the battle system is a bit tedious but its still a good game. just get some force lightning and youll be fine.

people praise it like one of the best RPG's of all time so i'm giving it a shot, but after DA:O there's just so many things i feel that are missing. unless i'm missing something, you gotta move each person individually into position during battles instead of click on person -> click on geographic location. it just feels a lot less tactical, although people said it's basically like DA:O except in the Star Wars universe

DA is good, and I havent finished yet, but I cant see the story being nearly as good as KOTOR's. Then again I'm a bit of Star Wars fanboy, so I ate up KOTOR and KOTORII.

KOTOR was awesome. Granted I played it on the original Xbox when it first came out. Was one of the few games that actually made the first Xbox worth owning. :o

KOTOR's story is way better than DA:O. That being said, DA:O has a great story but KOTOR's is just a hell of a lot better.

I don't remember ever micromanaging my guys in KOTOR either.

Not really. Both KOTOR's were boring mediocre stories.

i admit that i'm not really far enough into the game to probably know the battle system that well, but so far it's just been pause then clicking flurry until i fill up the queue. a little mind numbing so i'm really looking forward to more powers

Neither do I. In DA:O, I frequently have to pause combat and switch characters to issue specific commands and shit. In KOTOR, I seems to remember that I rarely ever needed to take direct control of anyone other than my main character. Actually, I don't remember the combat in KOTOR being all that difficult at all, for the most part. :o

KOTOR is simpleton gameplay. You can take a nap during battles.

i've been playing it like DA:O, having Carth run in with swords to tank and my scoundrel chilling in the back shooting his gun, but i don't even know if even that amount of managing is really necessary

Second one did suck, no one claimed otherwise in this thread. Second one wasn't even made by Bioware.

But the first one had an awesome story (and not just the plot twist either).
