Being treated like a fucking criminal by your state:priceless. :big grin:

PA and NH's permits are quite nice, send a 1 page application, a couple pictures, a week later check your mailbox. No training, no fingerprints.

training is smart, to make it a requirement should be criminal though.

Why would you possibly volunteer for more gun control? The states that have no training requirement don't have a problem so what are you trying to solve by giving the government more control over what you do with guns?

And I'm glad you got you got your stuff sent out, I'd just really like to see this become the next big issue in states that already have good concealed carry laws. I think gun owners are the biggest threat to ourselves as we give in to gun control bit by bit.

I just think that if you want to walk around with a gun, you should know how to use it. I dont want some putz who's never fired a gun being able to walk around with one.. :hs:

While thats nice to say, aren't you trying to prevent a problem that doesn't exist? We get on the anti-gun people all the time for when another state tries to get concealed carry or shall-issue and they say "there will be shootouts over parking spaces." We can say, that just doesn't happen, look at all the states that already have concealed carry. People are actually quite responsible with guns. Can't we say the same thing about concealed carry without training? There are a quite a few states with no training requirement, if its an actual problem it should be easy to show statistically. Otherwise its a tax and another hoop to jump through.

I also don't think its right to charge a person more than $150 to give a person the right ro defent themselves. I'd rather low income people be able to put that money to buying a better gun than a jennings or have a few more boxes at the range to practice with.

And at the very extreme edge of it, isn't it a slipperly slope? For now its fingerprinting and training. Is a polygraph or psych evaluation out of the question. You don't want a crazy person out there with a gun do you? I just urge everyone who an interest in keeping a gun to be careful with what we voluntarilly submit to because everytime we do in the name of it being "a reasonable precaution" we give up more of our rights that we will never get back.

I don't think it's right that we should be charged anything to have the right to defend ourselves. The price of good guns, ammo and training is high enough. They should pass a federal law that legalizes concealed carry without a permit that all states must honor. The reciprocity of your license between all states that allow concealed carry is a good start. Are they still trying to get that passed?

they tried to pull that shit in my county, the gun board required a mental health signoff for every applicant, they claimed they were the only county "doing it right" except the state supreme court told them to knock that shit off
