Out of the blue my R2 trigger got pretty loose then a few days later I noticed the L2 trigger had gotten a little loose. I rang Sony yesterday and they said I was entitiled to a replacement controller so long as they deemed it to be manufacturers fault and not something that was from wear and tear.

I apparently have to send my controller in to Sony and it can take 2 weeks to get back to me. Now I only have one controller and dont really want to pay £35 to buy a replacement whilst its away.

I decided to save money and time to attempt a repair myself :noes:

I took the controller apart and removed the springs from the triggers. I figured they'd only need bending slightly to solve the problem......both of them snapped in the process......FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.

Cant send it in to Sony now and cant play without springs.

I took a spring from one of those shitty pens they give away for free at the bookies or bank and what not. Using some tools at home I made 2 replacement trigger springs.

The controller works perfectly again...infact it feels even better. The spring from the pen is pretty thick and gives quite a stiff trigger.

    cliffs: feels good man

Funny you should say that. I was thinking about picking some up for a long time. It was actually playing burnout that convinced me to get some. I'd consider them a must have accessory

in a related story, my xbox controller triggers are so squeaky

anything i can do without opening it up?

it seems misaligned or something because when i push them in at an angle towards the middle, it doesn't squeak

I don't suggest supporting gamecrazy. After having a few friends working for them tell me about their business practices... I'd rather shop at gamestop.

I usually get my games from Target or Fred Meyer...
But I go to GameStop for my preorders (I have a friend who works there and he makes sure my preorders dont go anywhere but to me)

    Haha no way:rofl:
I have had to replace the triggers probably three times now. Fucking flimsy shits they are. Like literally as thin as a staple. I used springs I had from a car model set. Also threw on some concave sticks I had from an old xbox controller. Shits ftw
