Only took about 5 minutes and the trigger is lighter and smoother.

I really want to make sure you know that I'm trying to be helpful, not trying to be a dick. Why would you void the warranty on a pistol that is known to have problems in the past.

It doesn't. If I need to send it in for something I can just put it back in.

Whomever that is in your avatar has beautiful eyes!

I need to mod my Ruger Mark III 22/45. I want to remove the mag safety, the loaded rounder indicator and one more thing that escapes me. Apparently the gun is much more reliable without those lawyered up "features".

That my wife :bigthumb: I like the loaded round indicator on my SR9. I do however want to cut a coil off of the striker spring. People on the ruger forums are cutting up to 2 coils off and lightning their pull to 4.5lbs.

The problem with the loaded round indicator on the 22/45 is that it adds friction to the rim of the case when loading so you end up with mis feeds or jams.

If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't remove the LRI but removing it makes the gun more reliable.

Gotcha, doesn't seem to be a problem with the SR9 in my experience and from many reviews I've read.

On another note, I just got back from the range. Wanted to try it without the mag safety. Trigger is much improved. So much so that the first shot surprised me. I also shot out to 15 yards today and had to adjust the rear sight for windage a hair. Everything with the gun is really starting to smooth out. I'll have to count how much ammo I have but I'm guessing I have over 250 rounds through it now.
