    Fucking woot woot.
Total came to 2002.92 shipped with accp. I went refurbished :o. But it was a damn good deal.

    MBP was 1599
    specs
    2.16GHz intel Core Duo
    15.4-inch widescreen display (1440x900 resolution)
    1GB (single SODIMM) 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM
100GB 5400-rpm Serial ATA hard drive
    Slot-load SuperDrive (DVD±RW/CD-RW)
ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with 256MB GDDR3 memory
    Built-in iSight Camera
    Front Row and Apple Remote

The things that really sold me were the 256 MB ram and the price. I don't think I'll notice that big of a difference between the Core 2 Duo and the Core Duo, and I'm planning on doing maya and photoshop so the vram will be nice. I've got to upgrade to 2 GB later down the road.
I already have an external mouse and keyboard that I love, and my iCurve, and down the line I'm going to buy a 32inch LCD HDTV and run that as an external monitor along with having my 360 hooked up to it.

Comments? This is going to be a hell of an upgrade from my current computer.
    14.1 inch iBook G3 800MHz
    30GB HD space
    384MB RAM
    Combo Drive

The iBook is going to my sister until she upgrades to a macbook and sells my iBook, I was thinking I could get around 300 for the iBook, does that sound pretty accurate?

 everyone thinks I go to Johns Hopkins because of my av.

I'll make sure to post up when I get it. I need to download some programs STAT. I'll be contaminating it with media center so I can connect it to my 360 and so I can play CS source. Thats the only reason.

Refurb sounds like a really good deal.

I just got back from the Apple store and got myself a new MBP too! :run:

(I had a nightmare this afternoon that my fraying power adapter ripped in half and I decided to not tempt fate any further.)

    Haha.

Mine will be here tomorrow. I'm going to shit myself waiting though, I have a 2 hour hockey practice from 3:30 until 5:30 and THEN I can come home and play around with it. And by then I'll want to shower so I don't nasty it up, so it'll be like 6:15 tomorrow night . Oh well, I'm pumped.

Yeah, I'll be maxing out my ram also (does anyone know if ALL the macbook pro's can take 3 GB or is that just the most recent ones?). Did you get the same reburb I did? Its a hell of a deal IMO, almost same price as the top of the line MacBook, but it comes with a 3 inch larger screen, dedicated video ram and 1 GB RAM stock, plus a bigger HD.

That was a quick post. I've since reinstalled the OS, gotten rid of all printer drivers (I'll manually install the ones I need), also got rid of Garage band and all of its components, along with all the trial software.
I'm pumped, right now I'm installing XP via parallels for ONE REASON which is to play CounterStrike. I can't wait to get all my media on this and watch some movies on this AWESOME screen. I am really amazed at how big it is. I've got a friend with a 17inch dell laptop and we both agreed that when compared next to each other my 15 looks bigger. Its also very light and thin, compared to my old iBook atleast.

God damn there is just so much stuff you need to install. Its amazing how all those little plugins and fonts and what not all add up.

I don't think Parallels is gonna work too good for CS. Use BootCamp for that.

Yeah, I'm not sure but its worth a try. The system requirements for CS are so low that I figured it was worth a try.

    Why can't games run on 32MB RAM and a 233MHz P1 anymore?

    Fooled me.

Yea, well my $0.02 was that JHU was my stretch school that I didn't get in to. Also, my dad was a senior there when they won the national championship.
