That's a 2.5" drive, 200gb is not an option at that size. Lacie makes a 200GB full size external (looks the same, case is just bigger). I have a 160 and it is rock solid. Survived being drug around by me for well over a year now.

They are priced similar to other major brand externals for the same sizes.

What's wrong with Lacie? By better, do you mean bigger, or are you saying that Lacie is not as reliable or fast?

I noticed your choice of product. I have just bought a back up and extra storage external HD and i got the SmartDisk Firelite 80 GB. I paid $170 for it, and i looks to be a third of the size. QUESTION: Do you take SIZE over CAPACITY or vise-versa.

All right.. i've never seen one, and usually when i see a device that is not well rounded or designed well it seems to end up being bigger than i expected

Which one did you get? I hope it was the 80GB portable one and not the full size one. If not, you got ripped. Check the CompUSA site for current prices...

The Lacie drives are very well built, and even the full size (based on a 3.5" drive) are smaller than similar external drives.

What are you talking about? What about the lacie design indicates anything sub-par?
