my friend got the 24" dell lcd instead of the 23" ACD with the mac mini he ordered. got both the mini and the 24" dell lcd for the price of the 23" ACD alone. the dell has more features as well

If it's anything like the 20" Dell vs 20" ACD, he will be disappointed if he goes and looks at the ACD in the Apple store after owning the Dell. For screens with such similar stats, the ACD looks wayyyy better. Never thought that it would be that better, if any difference.

I got $100 off my purchase w/ a student discount. Also, I live by an Apple store...so if/when something goes wrong, I can just walk into the store to solve my problem instead of paying to ship it back and the waiting for a replacement.

I do like the multiple inputs of the Dell, but let's be honest here--I use my display for my computer, not as a television. I have a television to watch television...any idea what the dot pitch of the Dell is?

I also don't like the weird aspect ratio of the Dell -- 16:10 rather than 16:9.

correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought all the widescreens, apple and dell, were 16:10 to conform to HD spec. (I can't remember if HD is 16:10 or 16:9 but either way I thought both lines were the same ratio for that reason) :dunno:

he's been to the apple store many times before making his decision to try out the dell. he likes the dell much more than the 23" ACD that he was thinking of getting.

I haven't had time to make a clean installation out of the mini, much less clean up my disgusting desk. But, here goes (nothing impressive here):

The power supply for the display. I can't say I really like how Apple designed it.
