I just took it home, and cleaned it. I'm waiting for my buddy to get home, so i can go to the range and test it out.:wiggle:

Believe it or not my brother picked up his first gun today too. Neither of us had any idea the other was getting a gun. He picked up a Ruger P95 9mm.

    Good choice. People are listening.
You'll love it. And if you haven't already, do check out www.mp-pistol.com forum.
Let us know if you have any questions about it, there's a few on here that have them now. ;)

Thanks a lot. I just came back from the range, putting 150 rounds through it. That was the 4th 9mm I've shot, and by far the best (Walther P99, Springfield XD 9mm, and Glock 17 were the others.) I bought it because of the reviews, how it felt in my hand and how well people said it shot. That is a freaking awesome gun. My 1st clip, I didn't miss the target once. 5 of them were bull's eyes, and I am NOT an experienced shooter. Cleaning it is easy as hell too. If anyone is thinking about getting this gun. By all means get it. I love it. Great beginner gun.

Clean it? Are you supposed to clean guns? I use glocks so I don't know about cleaning guns... seems like a waste of time to me.

One of these days I'll get around to trying an M&P...Nobody I know owns one, maybe I'll talk a buddy into buying one so I can try it out.

I didn't like the compact due to the smaller handle. My pinkie went under it. I'm getting a CCW, but I didn't think it'd be that big of a deal.

    M&P FTW for sure though

You can get mags with extensions for your pinky.

M&P crew checking in! I have a fullsize 9mm and can't say enough good things about it. Never found ammo it didn't like, it has never jamed, FTF or anything else in the 1000+ rounds that I've put through it. You made a great choice.

Tennifer is the finish on the "outside" of the gun. And Glock's have Polygon rifling.

    OP,
Congrats on your first gun, M&P's are awesome.

    That's what I have. I love it. I'll probably get a 40 or 45 fullsize next.

The compact is too small for me too, and I prefer to carry a fullsize.

I came here to post this.

To the OP, welcome to the M&P crew. The full size M&P 9mm was my first gun also and I love it. Not one single issue in over 1,100+ rounds.

However, I didn't clean mine before shooting. :o Guess I was just too eager to try it out....then after putting 1100+ rounds through it, I decided to read the manual and it said to wipe off all the oil and stuff before firing. lol...oh well, too late now.

    I love this gun tho.
