I'm now a certified personal trainer :bigthumb: Overall , the course was pretty hard, especially at first , but it all comes together as you go on . I'll be working at Gold's untill I get some experience , then my friend is getting me a job at the personal training studio he works at

Are you physically fit like really workout and stuff? I haven't seen you post alot on here. My reason is I kinda doubt guys who say they are personal trainers when they don't have the "look" of one.

    I know I'm not massive and/or ripped , but I think I have a respectable physique .

It took me about 3 weeks or so , but I studied A LOT every day. They give you 120 days to do it , and it was $517.

So basically all you need is NASM to become a personal trainer? Where does NASM allow you to work? I know about Gold's Gym, but where else?

What do they start you out at in terms of pay? It just seems so wierd that you can become a personal trainer without traditional college! Kinda like real Estate in some ways!

sorry edited my last post, but that sounds very encouraging!!! I have been thinking of a career in nutrition or physical fitness. This seems to me to be a good way to start. At least it will let me know what I am getting into eh? And if need be I can go on to college for more!

I don't know where to find ranks of certifications , but I do know NASM is one of the top certs .I'm sure others here can back me up on that . My friend has been a PT for 7 years and said NASM is great and I could get a job anywhere with it .

armond , I don't know what I'll be making at Gold's , but when I start working where my friend works , I'll be making $33/hour.

lol, that is the biggest stereotype ever. Just because a PT doesnt look like a roided freak, or contest shape, has NOTHING to do with their knowledge on the subject. My friend Josh who is also a trainer at my gym looks like he is a runner, he isnt muscular at all, just looks fit, like a swimmers body, yet he caries a BA in Kinesiology and 2 certifications and knows way more than i do about fitness and nutrition. Im so sick of dumbasses saying "well hes not big he probably doesnt know shit", you would be suprised that most of the PT's in legit gyms would run circles around you in the books.
