Just joined a really gay gym

    I'm switching to Arnolds routine, 6 days a week, so I figured I needed a gym closer than 45 minutes away. I signed up at this snooty gym downtown that bills itself as a 'private club' and is full of Nautulis machines. Its got a great free weight area with good equipment but its full of old ladies doing 15 lbs on the machines. Grunting, chalk and excessive noise are prohibited, and deadlifting is frowned upon :rolleyes: I have to go in to today for a mandatory introduction to the machines (which I told them I will never be using). I don't think they're going to like me very much after a few weeks. On the plus side there is free underground parking and their power rack is beautiful.

    Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but isn't Arnold's routine designed for people that are on enough steroids to kill a horse?

    No I dont think so, this is his beginner routine I believe.

    pos gym esp if its 45 minutes away... find something else.

    btw i suggest a different routine. Like :

    Day 1 Push/heavy
    Day 2 Pull/light
    Day 3 Legs/heavy
    Day 4 Push/light
    Day 5 Pull/heavy
    Day 6 Legs/light
    Day 7 Rest

    you can break a rest day in between 3 and 4 if you like...
    with arnold's 4x12 your numbers will go up slowely.

    No, its walking distance, I'm going there instead of a gym thats 45 mins away. Thanks for the suggestion.

    I'm starting this routine tomorrow, I'm not too excited about the deadlifts, anything i can do instead?

    You should be excited they're my favourite exercise, it took me 4 months (not an exaggeration) to get my form perfect, and now that I have them down I love to deadlift.

    Do you really care who is working out around you? You'd prefer to be working out with a bunch of biscuit heads? I really don't care cause I am only there for myself.
