Starting off, I am 5'9", about 160. Very average. I am not looking to get JACKED, but lean and build muscle. I have never lifted weights in my life, but have been for about 3 weeks and I love the feeling. I haven't really been targeting a certain area...but was wondering the most effective way to workout. I usually start on the flat bench or incline and do 4 sets of 12, and if I have to go down in weight on the last 2 i do. I have been doing shoulder fly's with dumbells, curls with barbells and the pulldown on the pulley machine for triceps. I also mix in obliques and other shoulder excersises. I end with doing treadmill or playing 2vs2 bball to get a good sweat in. It was stupid of me not to take a picture before , but I don't eat fast food or eat too late, so I know I haven't lost or gained weight since I started. The first thing I notice is lovehandles down slightly, but my triceps are noticably harder when flexing. I just want to know the best, most effective way to work out. I am not looking to become SWOLL, but to get lean and healthy. My diet is very steady with lots of chicken and veggies, with steak sometimes and bagels for breakfast with eggs. Any input for a noobie will be greatly appreciated.
