Talk about strict rules! I know that in today's society we have to go out are way to avoid lawsuits, just thought i'd post some of the rules and see what you thought. In a way it's kind of nice because now i don't have to worry about some jack ass newb with no clue about guns.

Anyways, my dad and I met in the clubhouse at 12 to go on the indoctrination tour and get our gate key(not only is this place huge, but set up very well). The club property consists of a 10 and 20 yd. pistol range pistol range, and then 50 yd. rifle/pistol range right next to it. Then there's a 50, 100, and 200 yd. rifle range, trap shooting range, and also a 50 ft. indoor .22 range. Deffinately all I could ever ask for! Here are some of the things that somewhat surprised me:

-Maximum loaded cartridges for a pistol are 6 auto or revolver
-No gun can be carried on or onto the property w/o the action open(and obviously must be unloaded)...also no clip in gun
-No rifle can be loaded with over 5 rounds
-When shooting trap, only one shell is allowed in the gun
-This one really surprised me...NO RAPID FIRE

I can't really argue with the strict policy since it is effective, 0 major lawsuits against them in over 50 years of existince. Strict rules or not this is a very cool place, it's open for use 365 days a year dawn till dusk(the indoor range is open until 10).

I'm gonna shoot some .22 :fawk: peace

Sounds like a nice place to shoot. Got any pictures or other info? Not sure I understand some of those rules though. I suppose the Rapid Fire one is there to keep people from bump firing and to keep them from firing as fast as they can pull the trigger w/o aiming.

The place I'm at has the basic rules you'd expect for a rifle range. Nothing too strict like those though. It's a non-profit group so we'll probably never seen an indoor range there. They're still working on getting water and a fixed bathroom out there right now.

The rules actually said "No CLIP in gun"???

They are more strict than I have seen with local clubs, but nowadays everyone needs to C.Y.A.

Would double and triple taps fall under their rapid fire definition? If so, that would eliminate about 75% of my practice sessions.

How did that suprise you? Some moron at my range was shooting off the whole magazine of a 9mmhella quick at my range. It hit him in the face. Plus he shot the converyer for the targets.

My club rocks. The rules are basically:

    - Don't shoot at anything explosive
    - Don't shoot at anything that has a high chance of ricochet
    - Don't shoot anything that would be too hard to clean up (like glass)
    - Pickup whatever you shot at, if it wasn't a paper target.
    - No rifles at the indoor range
    - No rifles at the action shooting ranges
    - You have to first qualify at the 100 yard range to be allowed on the 200/300 yard ranges

That's about it. We have a machine gun range, but there are still no rules on rapid firing at the other ranges.

We no longer have any indoor ranges. The one here closed due to lead contamination.
The outdoor range is not monitored, open to anything and everything. Wecan have someone plinking with a .22 next to a guy tuning his Barrett .50 next to someone with a fully auto M60. Welcome to the wild west.

Uh, unless you own an m1 garand or something, care to enlighten me?

    Let's stop the misinformation -- it's magazine.

Because they aren't ignorant elitists like yourself. C'mon, "clip" maybe not be the correct term but i'm sure all of you knew exactly what i mean. And i'm sure 90% of you refer to cartridges as shells so stfu.

Here's a link to this place, getting a digital camera tomorrow so i'm sure i'll post some pics in the next few days.

If you want to talk to people who know about guns about guns you need to use the correct terms. Otherwise, you make your self look like a CS informed little twatburger.

hell, i've seen Guns And Ammo use the word "clip" in place of "magazine" a few times before.
