Was at Wally World and looking to see if they had anything. Some thitty .22LR non-jacketed, and not a lot else.

Standing there, a father and his ~13 year old walked up. his dad looks in the case and says "looks like they don't have it".

I proceeded to say "yeah you probably won't find anything anywhere right now."

He asks why and I go into it all. All this time the face on the kid kept getting more and more discouranged.

Then the father lets me know that he has just bought a 30/30 for the kid for his birthday.

:hs: Just had to share this. Really made me angry.

All my local walmarts were out of anything I needed. Went to Academy picked up their last 8 boxes of Monarch steel case. A guy walked up as I was walking away looking for 9mm. I couldn't tell him that I had just taken it all. This is all very very sad. BTW I'm not hoarding it, I'm shooting it.

Haven't been able to find my Federal 510 load (.22lr blue box) at Dick's lately, I'm on my last 4 or 5 boxes now.

after they left I thought I should have offered to take him out to blow some rounds off of a few of my rifles. I never think of that shit until after the fact.

Today my wife wanted to go to the range, so we went to 3 different stores looking for 9mm ammo. At Meijer they had nothing but .22, .223, and 2 boxes of .40. Walmart had nothing but a couple boxes of .223 and some .22. Dicks sporting goods had a ton of .223 and 5.56, a few boxes of .22, and a few boxes each of .38spl, .357, and .44 - oh wait, what's this, 2 boxes of 9mm!!!

    Oh, they're Winchester JHP's, 20 round boxes for 29.99. I'll pass.

I still had about 70 rounds of 9mm blazer brass, so we went and shot that, plus some .22lr.

    :sad2:

im just dry firing now and going through the motions in the living room occasionally to not lose muscle memory. either shit is going to settle down, or it's not. I'd rather be prepared for "it's not", than that it's going ot settle down.

I'm still waiting on all the people who have overextended themselves start selling off their stockpiles of uppers, lowers, mags, ammo, etc. I mean, they can't keep this shit up forever...

this shortage really makes me think about how quickly food or some other necessity would go if there was even a doubt of it not being there soon, or just in limited quantities

I would send him a box or two of Federal 30-30 for the price of shipping.

I do see .40 and .45 occasionally around me. If I see some, I'll snag it. How much would you want and what's the minimum you would want? I woulldn't want to hassle with it for less than 5-10 boxes....?
