What do you think?
The only people I don't charge are family and friends. Otherwise, I don't pick up my camera unless you're paying. Leave the charity work for the weekend photographers. Not my cup of tea!
But then again, it could be exposure.
Why is it these fucks are always in another country?
Maybe if i can get it in writing that I will receive a free copy of the book.
So where's da pic?
for a free copy of the book I'd do it.
that's pretty pimp.
i was just about to say this.
i would do it for a copy of the book.

These are almost always bullshit individuals who want free content they can make money off of.
Needs to be cleaned up tho.
What about royalty payments?
I really like your camera and I think you should send it to me. I don't have enough money to buy one, but I would give you credit if any of my photographs make money.
I'm just sayin......
offer to send me a free copy of one of your photographs.... then we'll talk.
Get real. Get paid if you're going to do it.
The letter actually reads:
I'm wondering if you’d like to have your photograph of the 70's Datsun featured in an upcoming book on cars of the 1970’s.
I’m an editor of a small London publisher and we are currently putting together a coffee table book aimed at the mass market outlets in the United States.
I found your photograph on Flickr and it would be great if you would allow us to use it in our new book.
The only criteria I have is that the photo is fairly large (the book measures 12 inches square) and is 300 dpi in resolution, that way it will look good when its printed.
We can give you a photographer’s credit in the book but I’m afraid, I would prefer to not pay you anything.
Despite the fact that I just told you in the 2nd para we're aiming the book at the American mass market and therefore can expect significant revenue return, I'm assuming you don't read well and believe this sob story that I'm a small publisher and am going on this fishing expedition to get all the free sourcing I can.
We publish a large number of products, childrens books, CD books, calendars, activity books, board books, and even stationery. We didn't get this big by giving our money away!
So how about it sport, can I have your picture gratis?
Let me know if this is something that you would be interested in and thanks for your time!
Berryland Books Ltd
I'd give it to them if they sent you a copy and published your name.
You guys are idiots for giving content out for free. My best friend of 14 years who is with the National Ice Carving Association wanted me to shoot the material for one of their books. They said no pay, but would give me credit. I passed on it.
Think how cool you'll feel when you show everyone your photo in a book. Then when they ask you how much you got paid for it, say "absolutely nothing because I'm a fucking idiot" with pride.
But I did get this free $12.95 book!
If you can find me some morons to build me a house for free, send them my way.
no pay, no picture
are you a professional? make your living taking photos?
I don't know too many people that build houses as a hobby.
Ask for payment... Nice shot btw.. floods sitting on the front seat?
Thanks. Just a single 550ex hiding in the ashtray.
Your pictures are good enough to be published, you know that. Get paid for it.
