its great.. ...love it.. thankx for the help guys
im gettin my drebel tomorrow cause i dont have enough money for D70
congrats. I love my D70
Turn the frown upside down. The Digital Rebel is a great camera.
Good choice, congrats.
yea i know, im getting some killer lenses too
i just hear so much about the D70 its hard to really enjoy the fact that im not getting one
thats just because Nikon fans finally have something to boost about, its been a while for them and not looking much better with the 1Ds Mark II out now trumping the D2x
D2X what? I havent heard a thing aobut them being out and lots of people have gotten 1d mk2 already.
Nikon is becoming a joke compared to Canon with digital I believe, atleast in the high end slr market.
thats my point, the D2x was hot shit for 5 days will Canon announced their new cam, which is already available, while Nikon is slow as usual in finishing and shipping
I bought the D70 because it was the best for what i wanted at the time. besides, we all know its not the cam its the lens where in the quality lies
No it is not the cam or the lens it is the person behind the camera.
I real good photographer can take an incredible pic with a disposable.
lets not get crazy
next thing you know, you'll be trying to tell us that driver skill is more important than vehicle modifications.
Oh, and just to throw this in the mix, while both Canon and Nikon are functionally just about equal in the entry level DSLR category, I found myself settling into the controls on the Nikon within about 10 minutes, controlling things that it took me several days with a Drebel to figure out. I love my D70.
The DRebel is laid out horribly, but my 1D Mark II is so perfect in regards to ergonomics.
Glad you agree about the Drebel, I was prepared to weather an assault by canon fans saying I'm just too stupid to figure the camera out.
After reading reviews on both, the D70 has more features and is laid out better than the 300D. I read the 300D first and it seemed impressive, but then I read the D70 reviews when it was released (dpreview and also at kenrockwell.com) and thought damn... this camera works just how I want it to. Bought it and love it.
dmora.. I know a guy who used to take pics with a shoebox camera.... /private joke
@ dbman av... nice one (btw, you're not too stupid to figure the camera out.. you're just stupid enough to have bought the canon /nikonsnobbery)
Basically, when it comes to D70 vs 300D, the D70 is a better camera. Funnily enough, Ken Rockwell's a Nikon sackrider and is pretty critical of the D2X. With good reason too it appears. In general, Canon have been ahead with their products and always seem to have an answer for Nikon. But the D70 was a master stroke, it's just a shame Nikon don't have much to follow up with.
Oh no, my DAD bought the canon, I used it for about a month... went to the store to buy one myself, and decided to check out the Nikon while I was there. 30 minutes later I walked out of the store with a D70.
I have the film varient of the Rebel, how much different is the D Rebel than the film body? I didn't seem to have a problem finding anything on the Rebel when I got mine.
You have a lot more functions to access on a digital though!
Ahh sorry, I misread....
Good work then
Theres nothing wrong with either camera, just pick a system and stick to it.
Oh roit... Didn't think of that
