It was 10 hours long and i'm ready to hunt some deer. It's good for a lifetime and you can hunt anywhere in North America with it.

Yikes... 10 hours seems a bit excessive.

Being able to hunt anywhere in N. America is nice, but out-of-state licenses are one of the biggest scams around (IMO) so it wouldn't be worth it for me. :dunno:

I took it back when I was in elementary school / boy scouts and it was like 2 solid 8 hour days.

I did that with my dad when I was a kid. It was just about 10 hours and I scored a 96% on the test while my dad got a 98%. He did not have to take it but he went with me so I could get a license. Good times. :hs:

Our test was 25 questions and I got 100%.

I learned that Missouri has the best if not one of the best department of conservation in the United States. One reason is because of tax. There's an 11% FET that goes to the MDC from sales of firearms, munitions, and permits. Also 1/8 of 1% of all tax goes to the MDC. The class cost us $2 which was to pay for the facility we used (local college). All the instructors were volunteer only (one head instructor and 3 instructors). If you sign up to be an instructor, the minimum is to teach 2 classes in 2 years and most of the people there today teach quite a few more than that.

My 10 year old son took it two weeks ago, missed 2 out of 50 questions.

missouri hunter education classes are just boring to sit through. i took mine last summer out of jeff city and i didn't learn anything new. Ive been around guns my whole life so there was nothing to learn, just felt it was time to get my hunters test over with.

best part was getting a 100% on my test and hearing the father that was in front of me get one wrong and start complaining about it to the person scoring the tests.

I did the online half then got some dumb kid at Wal Mart to sell me a hunting license with just the printout :mamoru:

Now I just show an old license when they ask for proof.

It was mostly about safety. They showed that in 1992 there were hundreds of incidents which resulted in someone needing medical attention and then one in 2007 it went down to 16 because of more educated hunters.
