I find that most movie adaptations blow chunks. No original screenplay, no care.

The more I thought about this movie the more ridiculous I think it was.

The group I went with enjoyed it and yes, the spot to spot clues and that type of stuff was fun but there was so much stuff about it that was just shit.

And it has a 7.0/10.0 on imdb.

I was not impressed with this movie, I only watched it because I was with a group that wanted to, I did not dislike it because of the religious aspects, I disliked it because it was a mess.

Saw it last night. I read the book and I was entertained at most with it and so I was curious to see hwo well they adapted to screen.

Now, I'm not some film snob that is here to disagree with every choice the writers/filmmakers made but it did seem a bit rushed and some plot points seemed rushed, such as the archives. Those scenes felt as if he'd been there before and knew exactly where to look, I needed more there.

Well, with any book-to-movie-adaptation, how could you possibly fit the whole plot into a 2-3 hour movie? It can't happen... most audiobooks are like 8 hours long. Of course a movie will be rushed, which is why I find most people who read a book and then see a movie based on it will leave somewhat disappointed.

I like to watch the movie better....dont have time to sit there and read the book. I just watch it at home faster. Watched it at oneclickmovies and it beat reading it.

Having every single aspect of the novel into a motion picture is ridiculous and that wasn't my implication.

there are better ways of bringing out some of the more powerful scenes to the screen than they did, it felt rushed for that reason.

I never said that was your implication. But with a book, (a well-written one, anyway), everything contributes to the overall story. When adapting a book to film, you can't obviously have everything in it. So you have to cut stuff, which will end up forcing the screenplay writers to change the story around so it will make sense without all the small details. I don't know, it just feels cheap to me, and a way to make quick money, and the reason medium-to-medium transfer of stories can end up a clusterfuck

Never been a Dan Brown fan. I'm still not.

I don't even think I'll see the movie... the first book left such an :ugh: taste in my mouth that I just can't force myself into more of it.

Do you have to see the Da Vinci Code before you see Angels & Demons for the movie to make any sense? I sort of want to see it, but people told me that I have to see the first one and that one look so boring.

I'm pretty sure I heard that although A&D becomes before Da Vinci Code book-wise, they flipped the order for the movies... that is, A&D is the sequel to the Da Vinci Code movie.

They released them in that order. One has nothing to do with the other.
