I love Cali weather, kinda chilly with the wind, but not too bad. Went around the city for about an hour, from downtown to about the Fairfax area. Traffic wasn't too bad. Textile jacket kept me plenty warm with just a t shirt underneath. Jeans and my summer gloves were comfy for this weather.

Not tryin to rub it in the face of those that put their bikes up for the winter or anything... :hsugh:

Not your fault they live in a frozen wasteland devoid of good food, attractive
women, or year round riding weather.

I'm no expert, but I thought you should wear riding pants everytime you go for a good ride?

I wouldn't call riding around on the freeway a good ride though.

I'm sort of curious about how well these would actually stand up to a crash.

Realistically, my legs are already pretty butchered (rashed my left knee on
a pedal bike, right thigh has scar from skin graft due to car wreck) but those
might actually help prevent a huge pain in the ass.

Jeans + those.....if they work...might be nice.....not leather by any means,
    but still.........

I want to move to Vegas, love it there. I hate cold, I hate rain, and I really hate cold rain, so the Pacific NW is not good for me. My scooter is packed up on the back patio with a battery tender, and I'm going to go pick up a disc brake lock and throw some fuel stabilizer in it, an then put the cover back on. Probably not going to be able to ride again until April or May. God, Oregon sucks ass.

If you must wear jeans instead of real riding pants, maybe look into these:

I know I "only" ride a scooter, but it's plenty fast, and I gear up with everything but boots, but I did pick up a pair of Reebok full-leather high-tops, they're pretty much light boots. I can wear them riding and not have to change when I get to work.

Same jeans that you were talking about yesterday and said they didn't do
    well when you looped it?

I was considering buying some....if they actually work as advertised

    True.....crash testing isn't fun.

What do you think of them? Worth the money? Would be nice to have
something stronger than jeans to wear when riding on the weekends that is
more comfortable than leather.....wouldn't hold up as well but better than
    regular jeans
