    Hey Everyone!

    I'm back!

Our ship went on a Euro-Cruise and did some exercises over there. I was gone for five months (JUL-DEC). Some of it was fun, and I got to see some cool places that I have never been to.

    Like:

    Palma De Mallorca, SPAIN
    Gdyana, POLAND
    Brugge, BELGIUM
    Tallinn, ESTONIA
    Lisbon, PORTUGAL
    Edinburgh, SCOTLAND
    Taranto, ITALY
    Copenhagen, DENMARK
    Kiel, GERMANY
    Plymouth, ENGLAND

    ...and a few other places.

Although, for those of you who have been over there before, you know just as well as I do that Europe is not exactly (in most cases not even close to) what the movie EuroTrip makes it out to be. There were some kickass places nonetheless.

Anyway, I just thought I would share that with everyone and see what has been going on in good ol' "Teh Barracks" :wiggle:

Now if you will excuse me, I gotta go get reaquinted with the wife. :naughty:

Yeah! Mallorca was pretty nice. Definitely a place for vacation.

Although, I liked Poland and Estonia much better than the others.
Everything was dirt cheap and the people loved us.

IMO ... Eastern Europe > Western Europe

    You must be correct. :bigthumb:

Wish I was a west coast one though.
Thank God I'm not out of Norfolk, though. :hsd:

Thats awesome. I've been in japan for 2 years and we have yet to get to Thailand. Although i've heard this summer cruise will be different. But i'm sick of korea and guam and austrailia.

    I did notice that... :hs:
Normally I would have started this thread with pics like a good little OT'er,
but getting back home and getting back in the swing of things is taking me some time.

I will have them when all the holiday rush is over and I get settled back in and bust out the pictures.

that's cool man, I went on west pac last year, we were gone for 6 months but I did see Hong Kong, Singapore, Oman, Jebel Ali, Eritrea, Seychelles and Sydney.. going back out next year to a couple of the same ports, and a few new ones, can't wait. I really do wish I went east coast though, I think Europe would be a lot better than Asia.

I kinda hear ya. I really wanted to go on west pac, myself
I dunno. I hear west pac cruises are a lot better than euro cruises.

Most of Europe is pretty gay. Literally. I went to Germany and Italy and it seems like they never got out of the 80's. Looked like every guy there had a mullet, a pink t-shirt with no sleeves, and a V-neck collar. Seemed like a David Hasselhoff no hygene tribute to Falco. :ugh:

But not all of the places were like that. Eastern Europe was great. For instance, I went with some buddies of mine to this Polish bar. Bought a round of beers for the entire bar. And these were no piss-water beers either. These were 17oz bottles of some damn good Polish beer. It only cost me about 25 Zlote' (about $4 American) for the entire bar (about 30-40 people). They thought that was a lot of money. Estonia was pretty much the same way.

Everywhere else in Europe was expensive. Denmark, UK, and Belgium just to name a few.

If I re-up again for a sea Command after my shore duty, I think I would like to go West Coast, just to see what I haven't seen yet.
