Just got an NEC ND-3520A from Newegg. Is it safe to burn DVD+R at 16X?

if the dvd+r disc is rated at 16x, then yes.

  3. Does anyone know if there's a reduction in video quality when you burn at faster speeds?

    Is a 2.4X burned dvd >an 8X burned dvd?

no, a DVD is a digital medium, and there is no reduction of quality regardless of the speed you burn out... With digital content, it either works, or it doesn't.

  5. Excellent. Thanks for the expertise.
