Just got my tattoo a couple hours ago and they told me to refrain from sweating because it can push the ink out. How long do i need to worry about this? Its on my tricep so i cant see generating much sweat there..just curious:o

I've never heard of that. I might understand trying to refrain from tons of sweat because it might irritate it early on in the healing, but not push the ink out.

The only thing I ever avoided post- tattoo was going into the gym with it not covered up due to infections etc.

I had a large area tattooed on my back. When it scabbed, the scab cracked in certain areas due to the skin moving/flexing (as most scabs do).

Where the scab cracked, the ink was a lot fainter, where I had to get it touched up the most. Why would that be? Did the ink bleed out? Or does the ink only stay in best if it can stay scabbed completely until healed?

You shouldn't really have a scab. If your tattooed right and you take care of it correctly then no scab should ever form. Shame on you for letting that happen

I never heard of that before until actually last night after getting some more work done. My artist did not want to put saran wrap on me because he said he did not want my arm to sweat. He never mentioned having the ink getting pulled out though.

it seriously doesn't matter unless you are in a sauna or something along those lines.
