I was wondering what the easies way to move all my book marks an adium prefrences over to the nw laptop is? Having to redo all my nick names and everything would be such a roya pain in the ass.

bookmarks are easy...what browser are you using?

As fas as Adium goes, I think you can just copy the Adium 2.0 folder from ~/library/Application Support and overwrite that folder on the new MBP...but you may wanna back up the Adium 2.0 folder on the MBP first in case it gets screwed up.

ok, i didn't look very hard, but it looks to me like your Safari bookmarks are stored in ~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist so just backup the original on your MBP, copy and overwrite from the old machine like you did with Adium and you should be good :bigthumb:

BTW, Google is your friend ;)

Or you can just do a File> Export bookmarks
    then file > import bookmarks

it'll spit out an html file...

just archive ~/Library to disk and re-add things as you see fit. I wouldn't dump the whole thing in there though, add folders piecemeal as you bring apps back up on your new system. Dumping an old prefs folder on top of a new version of an app can get ugly sometimes, and you'll need to be mindful of that. Adium is pretty good about consistency though.
