I had some extra cash and wanted to buy something I could actually afford (and find) ammo for, so I picked up a brand new Ruger 22/44 MKIII on sale at the local fun store.

I've only put 100rnds in it and it stove piped twice, I'm guessing I need to update the extractor? Are there any other cool and fairly inexpensive things to do with it? Do any extended magazines exist for it?

What ammo were you using? I would shoot it a bit more to see if it breaks in a bit. I had a little trouble with mine originally but I switched ammo and it shoots great now.

22's can be ammo sensitive. Unline larger centerfire pistols you really got to try several types of ammo to see what it shoots. the bargan bulk stuff is hit or miss, but there is usually one brand your pistol will like. CCI mini mags are pretty much always works as well as the more high end stuff like wolf match target (aka wolf MT which is really good ammo german rebranded as wolf)

  6. Mine likes the 40gr. Mini Mags, but hates the 36gr. HP ones. Try stuff out until you find what it likes.

It was just a little box of CCI (not minimags) I got free from the store to play with it at the range for a little bit for buying it.

That 22/45 pictured is ridiculous

no shit, I just looked them up and quickly disregarded them as I realized it costs a full 100$ more than I paid for the damn gun before a transfer fee.
