With iTunes you can transfer all of your purchased songs to the MBP and authorize it as one of the 5 computers it allows. The add'l non purchased songs on the iPod, no. You'll have to transfer those to MBP from your 'collection' and upload to iTunes and then sync it.

    open iTunes
under File, select "transfer purchases from iPod"

There are programs out there you can use for probably what I think your asking. Go to a variety of Mac forums for more info.

Otherwise, you won't get the answer you're looking for here. See stickies.

I ended up having to burn CD's to make the transfer. I don't even think it all came over but I am close enough. Thanks anyway for your help guys.
