My uncle just sold me his loaded '94 5-speed 325is for $600. It has a couple problems that I hope some are familiar with:

1.) The interior is terrible. The door panels are all messed up and the vinyl is peeling off. The vinyl is also peeling off in the armrest area in the back seat. Any way to fix that cheaply? I'm definitely not spending as much as I spent on the car to get door panels, considering it's just a beater.

2.) The seats are the power ones with the adjustable thigh support things, and the driver's seat back is currently stuck at a 45 degree angle. I can hear the motor try to move it and I can see that the gears are free of any clutter, but it still won't move. Any ideas?

3.) The clutch sticks to the floor at the moment. I'm thinking it's just the slave cylinder but I haven't had a chance to take a look at it. I'm going to buy a SS clutch line and a new slave cylinder and hope for the best. Is there any reason a blown clutch would result in this? I'm thinking not...

I'll get some pics up soon. The exterior is immaculate for the price I got it with the only thing wrong being a cracked right fog light. I figure it'll be a good car to put some city miles on, considering my drive to school is so short that my car doesn't even have a chance to warm up :(

Good buy! Any pics? James @ BimmerWorld sells the fog lights for a good price. $60 if I remember right.

The interiors in the 92-94 were notorious for the peeling door panels.

In my experience, clutch to the floor has always been because of a bad slave cylinder.

    PICS:

Removed some ignorant bumper stickers and PORT HOLES that were on the car when I got it:

Needs a wash and a new pair of foglights and the exterior will be set:

I have the driver's door panel and the panel underneath the steering wheel removed here. Seats are actually in decent condition:

Has the 18 button on board computer:

And here's one of the peeling door panel: [IMG]

Right now I'm at $600 for the car, $140 for TT&L, $40 for slave cylinder, $40 for rear seat gear, $20 for stock shift knob, and I'll be buying some fogs from ebay soon. Not too shabby!

Meh too much work for this car...it has 180k miles on it so I don't expect it to last forever. My maxima is fun enough on a road course anyway (14.2 quarter mile, full suspension including poly bushings and lower tie bar, 12.6" brakes with hawk pads, and good tires), and it's much more reliable. The bimmer platform is much better to work with (much stronger frame, RWD, near 50/50 weight distribution, etc.) but seeing as how I'm not made of money it wouldn't be feasible to even make it track worthy...

might want to try some of that headlight restore compound on the headlights. Look in the detailing forum. That would look nice on your car.

Yeah I have a bunch of compounds that I'll use to get them nice and clear, but I think I'm going to order the depo headlights anyway. Projectors > old reflectors

    So-so my ass.

They're heavier than most other three series rims and when brake dust gets in them they're a pain in the ass to clean.

Yeah when the tires are done with I'll either get these:

    or these:

I want to keep them 16" not only for weight savings but also because I don't want expensive tires.....

Are they really heavy? I figured they were light..they look just like the old BBS style and they're only 15".

  19. Of the two wheels you posted above, the ones on the red car are better.

IIRC they were heavier than the other three series rims. There's no question they always look like shit because crap gets caught in them and they're hard as fuck to clean.

    Red car rims FTW.

    Or get some M3 rims.

Ew yeah, definitely need different wheels. If you can't find a set of M3 wheels for a decent price, I'd definitely go with the 96-99 sport-pkg wheels as pictured on the red car.

I have a set of M3 wheels that I used for winter on a 97 M3 but I haven't decided if I want to sell them yet. I might get a cheap E36 to replace my E30 daily driver.

lazy.... I shipped a set of wheels and it wasn't that bad. Made some money off of it too, cuz I charged more for shipping than what they actually cost to ship :hsd:
