No wonder I can't shoot a rifle for shit. Pistols are ok though.
How'd you find out?
Did that hand test.
Put your hands together with a little hole (like 1/2") you can see through in the webbing of your thumb, center it on an object with both eyes open. Close left eye. If you can still see the object, you're right-eye dominant, if you can't, you're left eye.
Not sure if I'm doing it right since I don't know how far to put my hands away, but if I am then I'm right eye dominant.
Like hell I'll get a lefty rifle though, there's practically none.
It's ok, I'm right handed and left eye dominant too. It just takes me a little longer to aim long guns.
Oh, yeah, extend your arms all the way. Isoceles stance.
im left eye dominant too... makes it difficult to acquire targets quickly on a rifle, but if im not in a rush it doesnt really matter. helps a lot with skeet and trap shooting tho
Still right eye, but I can shift my view and the left eye will still be viewing it, it just takes a conscious effort.
An alternative test is to point at an object (say a light switch) across the face square in front of you. Close each eye individually. The eye you view through when your finger still remails on the object is your dominant eye.
But what if the FUCKING ZOMBIES COME?!
I'm so snowed.
i always thought if you closed your left, and the object didn't move, your right is dominant. lemme know. this is news
spray and pray...
im almost blind in my right eye and thats the only way i can shoot a rifle even tho im still not the best...
I'm left eye dominant as well, I've just decided to learn to shoot rifles with the right eye, since they make so few left side eject rifles.
Stag makes Lefty ARs now
I'm left eye too. I find long guns with raised sights much easier to aim with
The first time I tried straight trap some guy told me to keep both eyes open, but since I'm left eye dominant and shoulder on the right I didn't hit anything and gave up on trap shooting.
But recently I did a round with my brother's verney carron and got 9/25
Im gonna be making one
i'm left eye dominant, but i shoot with both eyes open at all times... so
I am right eye...shoot pistol lefty, and rifle right
thats odd, i found it helps a little... horses for courses maybe???
In high school we called our left handed friends "squirrel handed" for some reason. I guess we'd call you squirrel eyed haha.
