I dunno why (but I have a good idea) but DittoAlex wanted to see my back tire. Here it is in all its punctured glory. Big hole right in the center of the tread. Notice the broken exhaust mount that led to the punctured tire.

Anyway, here you go Ditto, start trying to analyze my riding ability from my chicken strips.

See, I had this stereotype that a Busa ridden by a black guy would never, ever lean.

So how did this change your mind or did it?

Oh yeah.... pssttt... don't tell anyone... but I'm not black in any shape way or form. Though I wish I were in at least one respect. :hs:

I'm the guy on the left with the leather jacket on. Yes, I take horrible pictures. I'm comfortable BEHIND the camera, not in front of it.

LoL... go back and reread. It was a dig at the guy that made the comment and I actually never said that I was.

I've never sat on a busa before :eek3:

How does it compare to a smaller sportbike?

Well, I figure since I've owned the big opposites I'm a bit more qualified to answer this than those above.

I started on a CBR 600. While I owned that I owned a 750 ACE. Then a Kawi Concours (now THAT is a pig), then on to an SV 650. Finally on to the Busa.

That being said, I've spent a little seat time on a LOT of motorcycles ranging from a 250 ninja to a 500 GSR set up for racing to a Gold Wing (1500 and 1800).

The weight thing is rarely an issue for me. I will say that the Busa is much more stable in the curves than a twitchier bike such as most modern SS bikes. I did ride a GSXR 1000 and found it surprisngly comfortable for what I was expecting.

Power wise, well, lets just say my sense of speed and power are a bit warped now. Everything else just feels slow and that includes the newest gen of liter bikes that may or may not be as fast or faster. They just plain feel slower.

I'd like to have another 600 but it won't be a SS. Likely a V-Strom 650 or something along those lines.

You mean when a mounting strap for your exhaust doesn't break off and cut your brand new (1,200 or so miles) tire?

In that case, I get about 5,500 to 6,500 miles out of these tires. They are Avon AV-46 tires.

Heavy is relative. I used to ride an 800 pound bike and just the other day I was running like a bat out of hell on an ST1300 which makes my bike feel like a welter weight.
