my WASR-GP 10 came a little beat up. Scratches and stuff all over. So I used a dremel last night with a buffing pad and smoothed everything out.

Then, I painted it with Rustoleum Hi Heat Paint, meant for grills and radiators and stuff.

I did every visible metal part except the magazines.

    What do you think?

I'm wondering how well it holds up. Worse that happens is I gotta re-sand it. No big deal really.

i would've used gunkote, a paint that's designed for that kinda application. But since it's an ak, i'm sure it'll work just fine.

Eh. Couldn't justify expensive paint on a cheap rifle. I just wanted to make it look nicer.

And I like that this is a much duller look. Every gun I've seen duracoated is shiny. I wanted a powder-coated type look.

parkerizing an AK would look Meh.

I wanted a dark non reflective finish.

Looks good. What kind of buffering pad did you use? I don't want to smooth mine out by hand when I refinish mine.
