    Congrats.

And speaking of navy boot, did they finish that giant building that was supposed to hold all of the training facilities and an indoor track or w/e so you wouldnt have to march all over the base anymore?

u know what funny, ur not the first ive heard say navy boot was easy. Seriously, is it really that easy? AF basic sucked a fat one (IBarmyandmarinecorpsbasiciswayharder). Maybe it was my instructors, they were always up our asses about something.

    PS congrats

that's the new battlestations building, and yes it is now in use. there shall be no more spoken about that.

sw20, it depends on the person. if you are in good physical shape it's easy. if not, it will be harder. and just like any other service you have to demonstrate an ability to perform well under pressure, and when people are screaming in your face at really close range.

Such a joke, it was raining a bit the night we did ours, so we wern't aloud to run between stations (between the buildings) because we might "slip" so I walked around on mine heh.

cherish your time at great mistakes, it may seem like the worst place ever, but it can get far, farrrrrrrrr worse than being at 'A' school or whatever basic training you are attending there

we were all male as well, guess times change. we just had to walk downstairs to eat chow everyday. no marching across base to the main galley. last 2 weeks was DVDs & music. Long as we kept our military bearing it was pretty relaxed. Don't get me wrong we were beat every day, but it got to the point we enjoyed it cause they did it so much.

OK, heres my advice for you guys at Great Lakes...

    1. Wrap it up. Those girls are fucking whores. The ones that arent whores will be avoiding you.
    2. Those girls are whores. Fuck all of them you can.
    3. Don't get caught drinking if you are underaged. Get a hotel room like everyone else and keep it reasonable. If you want to risk it on base there's an old dude at the bar at the bowling alley named Sam who probably will serve your underaged ass.
    4. See Chicago a little bit.
    5. Don't get attached to some corp whore.
    6. When orders come up avoid Japan unless you really really want to come here. The entire Seventh Fleet sucks. I cant wait to go back to So Cal.

    sorry late response.

I don't know what kind of standards some people have but its pretty awesome over on the corps side. Lots of free stuff to do all over base and the living conditions in the barracks is much better than boot camp style of living.

Yeah boot camp was definately easy. I was in a 900 division and the last time we got beat as a division was on 1-x week. I'm serious I only IT'ed maybe 4 times total the entire time at boot. Our rdc's straight out told us they don't like doing it because they have better things to do. But we also had a squared away group of recruits. We were picked based on asvab so almost everyone was 90+ and we had lots of officers kids too.

All you need to make it 2 months through boot is patience and silence and SOME physical fitness. PT is a joke and you'll end up getting out of shape if you are athletic in most cases due to said crapiness.

Battlestations was ok since we did the old one. the new one is still being tested by divisions. We only ran once during battlestations.

On a side note screw what everyone says I really like great lakes and the base in general.

You know how much I ran weekly at boot?

3 times a week and no more then 1-2 miles inside of freedom hall.

They start out with a 8 minute sustained run and then progress up to the final 20 minute sustained run which ends up being at own pace really. It's laughable.

what's really disgusting and made boot hard for people was the fact we spent so much time in the same building since our classes and the galley and our divisional compartment is all under one roof.

I'd go for days sometimes only going outside for a whopping total of 5-10 minutes total.

sickness is rampant and its like the plague when one person brings it into the divison.

Seriously everyone got their family members sick during liberty weekend after graduation because of all the crap is on us when we leave RTC for liberty.

NO ONE ever screamed at my face. EVER. I was only yelled at because my division was maybe being yelled at but even then our RDC's hardly yelled.

oh yea we missed hall of fame by .03 :greddy:
