They do ~10 mile humps at regular USMC boot camp. I bought an ALICE pack and shit so I can start training, i'll probably start at like 5 miles and work my way up.

nope but at the Washington Monument there was signs that said no bags bigger then like 16x18x6 inches at the monument and surrounding mall area :mamoru:

we exceeded that big time. no one said anything, we do this quite a bit actually, was just first time in a while. gonna start doing it at least once a week now if not more shorter ones too. :)

god damn bro ur a machine then. i drank 1 3L camel back, refilled it about half way so thats another 1.5 liters. and then 2 1 quart canteens so thats like over 5 liters while on that roadmarch, i cant do roadmarches without water, well in the summer i cant, in the winter i can do it with little water.

That sounds like it would be pretty cool. I know what you mean about drinking water. Thankfully we don't ruck with IBA here but we wear out at the demo range when we are placing explosives. Just having the thing on for 10mintues leaves me drenched in sweat with the NC heat and humidity. I'm sure DC is pretty close to being as hot as it is here. I like summer but I prefer the more mild fall and winters.

Just buy an all black pack for your ALICE so it's not marpat or regular camo and then go out in your civvies.

I got my complete ALICE system on eBay for 25 bucks... 25 bucks!

yup, marines are not authorized to wear serviceable marpats/bdu's out in public unless they are on their way to/from work. Boots and Utes are allowed however when PTin, but that gets into 'gray' subject matter as to what is considered PT.

is it true that when marines roadmarch they can have sleeves rolled up and they dont have to carry the weapons at the low ready (you guys sling em?) becuase you guys dont really need to do tactical road marches you just roadmarch to get to where u need to go? thats what i was told by a marine

weapons can be slung(is that a word?). As for the sleeves, I'm not 100% sure about that, but I am pretty sure they have to be rolled down.

Alright. Was just curious. During SFAS for Team Week we did 40+miles within 48hrs carrying 60lb rucks plus having to complete the team events. They involved moving very heavy, akward objects over long distances. The final portion at 12:30am of the 2nd night was the worst. Its a "unknown" distance but it was around 20miles. I kind of hurt after that... lol

if you have boots that fit your properly you will rarely get blisters, mostly very few. if you get more then a couple then your boots dont fit you good and you need new ones

umm to toughen your feet and increase muscular endurance, that was a retarded question. i sometimes do runs with IBA in plain clothes.
