As much as I could anyway. I was on the way to my brother's house and called the Walmart down the street and the guy said he was stocking ammo right now.

I get there 4 minutes later and he's still stocking ammo. I ask how many boxes of 9mm he has and he said 9 because someone just bought one. I said i'll take all 9 of them and he had a bewildered look on his face. A customer around there was trying to be cool and said things like, "looks like youre gonna have fun this weekend." etc.

I then asked ill take some .45 acp also. He asked how many and I said all of it. Then I asked how many he had and he said 3 cases and i'm like :hs:...ill just take 5 boxes. I thought I had 6 at home but it turns out I only have 4 (wanted 1000 total on hand). Ill stop by again later on to pick up a few more boxes, maybe another 5 because Winchester boxes them with 5 in a case.

I also picked up 5 more bricks of .22lr. I called the same store yesterday morning and they had 7 and I asked my brother to go out there to get them all for me. I was driving to his house to pick them up so 7 + 5 + 8 i had at home. 10,000 rounds of .22lr was my goal so i'm done buying it for a long long time.

My .22LR gets the most use just because it's cheap and just plain fun to shoot. :wavey:

Going to check out Walmart this weekend and hopefully clear out their inventory as well. :mamoru:

I picked up a case of 5,250 .22 rounds at Sportsmans Warehouse a couple weeks back. $135.99.

Good thing is if you buy a case there, of any ammo, you get a 5% discount.

So, I've got over 10,000 .22 on hand now. Over 20,000 total of various ammo. But, I still check Walmart weekly. Yesterday proved to be unsuccessful. NO CENTERFIRE what-so-ever except for 7.62x39. No gun, no care.

What did you pay for the 9mm?

I saw the 100 pack of WWB for $20 and change. The last time I bought it (November?), I remember paying around $13.

It hasnt been $13 for a LONG time. At least since probably February. It was $10 in December 07.

I ordered my cmmg .22 AR conversion last week... should be here any day now.

In anticipation, I bought 4 more .22lr 550rd boxes at Wally World last night.

Walmart doesn't have any WWB, and the tag list on the empty shelf says $23. The Dunham's near my house has it for $24 and actually had two boxes last time I was there.

Just went and picked up ONE 550rnd box of Rem .22 golden bullets. Yes, one. They have a fucking limit 1 per person now.

I guess it's good because I got one box, but still sucks that there's a limit. They should limit everyone but me.

I went to the Wal Mart at lunch and bought 900 rounds of 9 mm Blazer Brass and 200 rounds of 40 Blazer Brass. It didn't even make a dent in their 9 mm inventory. $8.97 for a box of 50 Blazer Brass 9 mm.

I've been off the radar for a few months...why such a rush to buy ammo? Is wal mart having some kind of huge sale on ammo?

Hysteria/paranoia brought on by the 2008 election. People are afraid Obama is going to tax the heck out of ammunition, which will make it un-affordable.... so they buy everything in sight all at once, and the 3-5x increase in demand drives prices way up and actually does make it pretty un-affordable.

I personally am not paranoid about what Obama or the dems will do in regards to traditional ammunition. I am however keeping a much larger "cache" of ammo on hand because I like to go shooting a couple of times per month, and the buying frenzy means it isn't always available.
