Took it off his hands for $200. I told him I would have payed the going rate for a used 92, but he was just happy to sell me my first handgun. It was nice since I have grown up shooting this gun (he originally purchased it at a fun show when I pointed it out about 9 years ago). So it has a lot of good memories tied to it. Plus it shoots straight and works every time. :wiggle:

Not a huge fan of beretta's but I do like how those stainless 92's and 96's look.

I've always liked the look and feel of Berretta's. But that's just me, I just like guns period and don't believe there's a end all to guns.

I just think it sucks that he made you buy it off of him.

    :)

I actually insisted to pay him. I have accepted enough gifts from him in the past. Now the pistol really feels like it belongs to me.

They're good looking guns. I just personally don't like their ergos.

I'm in the navy, and while my job in the navy has nothing to do with weapons of any sort, I spent some time on the 92FS (or M9 service pistol) in boot camp.

this is how the navy trains (and I'm sure the other branches are no different)

the M9 is carried with the safety on, always. when one draws the weapon, they train you to flick the safety off with the thumb on your non-firing hand when the weapon is out in front of you. This is pretty simple, and can be done in one smooth motion.

those in the navy that are around small arms alot (Master at Arms, Gunners Mate, etc) get extremely proficient at it, and are able to quickly draw the M9 and quickly and accurately get rounds downrange and on target as if the safety was off, or didn't exist.

My dad too has a beretta 92fs. It's a fun gun to shoot as there's not much recoil, but I would only ever own the stainless version. Inox or vertec, I can't remember.

The ninety-two is atrocious though. The managed to make the gun uglier, if that's possible.

Awesome. I own a Taurus PT99 Stainless which is basically the same gun with a frame mounted safety and 17+1 capacity and it is wonderful to shoot. Put about 700 round trough it in the three months I have had it. There is a pic of it in my profile. :coold:

Get some pachmyer grips for it. :coold:
