What a frustrating experience
awesome details, brosef
at first I peeled off the lid cover, and it folded over and got stuck to itself
Then, somehow, I got mad lint under the wrist rest skin (no biggie they sent me two)
it took like 1.5 hours to get done, but it looks pretty good now
lol noob. i did mine in like 15 minutes
I've skinned many of my gadgets. Next time, do it in the bathroom with the shower going on hot. The steam will prevent lint from sticking to the skin. Also, don't be afraid to be liberal with the soapy water mix, get the skin nice and wet. Finally, don't put your battery back in until the computer is fully dry.
I just did the back skin on my iPhone 3G, opted for the single piece (seam down the middle would have pissed me off royally.
It took about 20 minutes to get all the tabs to stick in place, but it really wasn't that bad. I saw so many complaints about how tough it was to put on a curved surface I was a little worried.
Skinning the back had the added advantage of making scratches/pits much less noticeable. Permanently glossy FTW.
I skinned my Blacbook with no problems. Honestly, no more than a minute for the cover, and another minute for the the cover around the trackpad.
Did you follow the directions properly?
This is how it turned out...(as you can tell I love it so much I always whore it out )
i think the OP is talking about those transparent skins that are thinner than what you just posted...if so, those are a pain in the ass to get just right. It's hard enough to get one to line up on an iphone, so i'd imagine it's pretty hard for a larger computer to get one on perfectly.
I'm getting the invisibleshield full macbook pro (late 08) protection in a couple days, and i'm not looking forward to it : (
i always put those on my ipod touchs, what a pain in the ass. a macbook would be hell. id like one for my mbp but my red/clear hard case works fine and is easy to apply and remove.
i have the incase cover on my macbook... i love it
pics of mine w/ skin...wasn't that hard...easier than my iphone 3g
although while it was drying i left it on my heater on top of a penny so there's a slight penny imprint on the bottom
it's all good though
Nykwll, I want what you have. Where did you buy it and how much?
i just did the invisibleshield on the late 08 macbook pro and it came out really good...the skin is nice cuz it feels solid, not like its gonna peel or anything.
I was stupid when i started putting it on though. For some dumbass reason, i started on my bed lololol I ended up dropping the top case skin on the bedsheet and got crazy pissed at myself LMAO this was even after the fact of reading neil1138's review about the dust and shower on to install it....i promptly moved to the bathroom after than, but not before i got a bunch of little pieces of lint/dust on the top case
It's all good though, not really visible unless ur up close to the computer. overall i like it alot and am glad i dropped the dime to get it.
Whenever I buy one of those skins for my ipods I always buy it from the Apple store because the employees there will put it on for free and they always do a perfect job
the one i have is from BodyGuardz
it's 50 bucks. The one from invisibleshield and bestskinsever doesnt have the cutout for the apple for the top piece, but i found the bodyguardz cutout made it easier to align the top piece.
