    No, 5.56 mag. Mostly for looks, I have a bunch of 5.45 Cproducts mags, but all the 5.56 mags I've tried have worked 90+% of the time.

    I was looking at 5.45 uppers just because we're getting a couple Tantals and the ammo's cheap...but I dunno. I have alot of 223 builds in my head.

    so what all is needed for 5.45? Barrel? Is the .223 bolt close enough or does it use a different bolt as well?

    stainless would be the way to go

    It's a different barrel, bolt and chamber. This is chrome lined, 1/8 twist.
