NICE pics of the GTi! Where'd you take the second one? I can't believe you got to go see the Two Pirates. I wanted to go see that thing so bad, but I'm stuck here...

...Once there's a sunny day here, you and I are going to have a Macro showdown. ;)

The 2nd GTI pic was shot at the Port Orange Causeway, beachside.
You want a macro showdown? You got one. ;)

Maybe I'll change that comment to:

"Macro showdowns are for photography n00bs."

    :)

What's that Two Pirates ship? How come it's run aground?

Also I've seen quite a few people post photos of their car at that spot with the flooded road... Is it always flooded? IMHO, it would look much better on a less windy day where the water was perfectly still...

    Good job :)

The story behind the ship is basically an amateur crew was on board, they all went to sleep, let nobody on guard, the anchor broke free and the boat drifted in. It beached itself on the high tide and when the tide went out, boom, the boat was stranded. The beach down here is so shallow that once the boat got up there on the shore, there was no practical way of getting it off, so the boat was dismantled on the spot. Every high tide pushed it farther and farther up the beach until at one point there was almost 50 feet between the boat and the waterline at low tide.

For size reference. . . that thing was huge.

Oh, and that spot w/ the GTI, yeah, it's just an example of the glorious drainage system here in the Daytona/Port Orange area. Every time it rains, a hugeass shallow puddle forms there and stays for almost days. And yeah, it was a bit breezy that day, but I kind of like the effect the wind has.

Good detail, but you could get the same result by throwing it on a scanner. . . ;)
