I will be trying this within a week I'm sure - since I just ordered another arcade from Amazon.

Will get this prior to monday.tuesday or so.

Trying my hand at flashing my first liteon next week. Flashed _many_ drives, but just had my first wave of liteons so i had to order the kit to flash.

Hope its easier than doing benq's. At least now i wont have to drag a Fn' powersupply and video cable all over the joint.

BenQ/Samsung are the easiest, they're the same method.

Which is why i hope the liteons are the same.

Im just glad i dont have to open my rig, hook up the sata cable, power brick, video, blah blah blah.

If i had more buisness id prolly build an el cheapo modding rig in a case thats open and at desklevel.

    I have done a samsung and a 7XXXX lite-on
when I was done I just wished every drive was a sammy. Fucking r709 spear nonsense then the erase is tricky (I used the 360 as a power supply) and you could brick the drive easily. Just disable your via card when you erase/flash.

Its cool. Im pretty technically inclined so im sure with a proper tut ( as with anyone ) ill be fine.

Its just the fact ive been asked to mod over 10 liteon drives in the last 2-3 weeks and i dont have the kit.

Might as well suck it up and do it. Freaking canadapost says the package has "left the country" but the usps site still says tendering.

Mid next week ill be in action. Do you guys use the ck3 v3.3? What pluses does it feature?

Mine *should* be this version. If not im hoping im not fucked when it comes to a particular version or model.

I got the ck3 lite, since I hear bad things about the USB version, which is the only difference.

Plus the pro version is more expensive and probably not necessary.

If you're modding a 8xxx liteon all the connectivity kit is useful for is powering the drive using your computer. The latest connectivity kit will get that done but one of the older versions should also do that just fine.

Unless it's been touched by M$ since. They replace RROD shits with the new drives apparently.
You have to use serial for lite-on 7x's. I had to buy a serial PCI card since my motherboard didnt have one
