jump progress

    i started oly lifting 2 years ago, really perfected my technique within the past 5 months....... before 2 year mark iwas about 230-220 , 5'11" and could only get 6" below the rim of a basketball hoop......as i prefected my technique especially with cleans and snatches (getting under the bar as quick as u can).....i finally tapped the rim. @175-180.not once but a couple of times today.. :wavey:


    makes me wonder what spud webb's lifts would be :o

    Losing 40-50 lbs would increase your vertical 6 inches without even workout your legs.

    Congrats. Thats been my challenge for a while. Just reached the mark as well. I'm 59" at 210 and I can just get my fingers over the rim. It was a great feeling doing it a few times in a row, to make myself believe it wasnt a fluke :wiggle:

    Have you just been doing explosive lifting? Have you tried any programs like Air Alert or the like?

    My brother who is 16 years old started touching the rim after 2-3 months of working out and hes 5'11 as well

    Just explosive lifting here... decided to give it a try after reading about some bball players on fi using oly lifting for jumping enchancer

    I read on a couple basketball training forums that air alert doesnt do shit for them.

    I should really consider getting back into basketball and try to get some vertical. While in Highschool I use to play BB for fun with some buddies, an everyday thing. I am only 5'7", but I could touch the rim. Now, I don't think i can even touch the net... Sad :(
