So yea, at a friend's house and he whipped out his old juicer and some old-ass book with hundreds of juicing recipes and some buff 80 year old guy on the cover. I begin reading the book and looking at the recipes; apparently the author has a boner for an apple-carrot juice combination. To make this juice you need 4 carrots and 2 apples, and the end result is 1 serving of this apple-carrot juice. So I think it out for a few seconds... if you just ate the 4 raw carrots wouldn't that be like 2 servings of vegetables for the day? And if you just ate the 2 apples wouldn't that be 2 servings of your fruits? It seems to me this juicing thing may be a little counterproductive... am I missing some major piece of this puzzle?
