Any one ever use their judo throws when they are sparring in muay thai? I was recently sparring against this guy last week and he was just owning me in the clinch so I just used tai otoshi. I ended up doing it like three times in him within are sparing session.

  2. I'd imagine that your training partner would get kind of pissed.

oriental rules they are but supposedly you cant use trips, hips or sweeps which doesnt matter because the tai otoshi gets most of its power from the foot work and momentum. I see thai guys throwing each other every once and awhile but they use a very limited arsenal.

I've never seen a judo throw or hip toss or anything. just your standard sweeps and swing throws from clinch.

and what the fuck are oriental rules? this isnt cribbage.
I've never heard of oriental rules, or judo locks and throws being legal. I probably need to travel more :o

judo throws are illegal in muay thai and can get you disqualified. basically just allowed to throw him behind you from the clinch over your leg. grabbing at the neck or head.
