So I am trying to apply for a job as a PC tech that involves unboxing PCs, installing them to LAN, configure TCP/IP. I know how to do all that but the ad says it wants people with Jr. to Mid. Level admin skills with MS2000/XP :ugh:

Can some one explain what are the differences between Jr and Mid admin. level - Besides being one has more duties than the other.

No. Because there is no universal job description out there. What they're probably look for is someone with experience.

Apply. What's the worst that could happen? If you're upfront about your skil set, they can't fault you.

when they say jr. or mid-level they mean a non-expert. someone they don't have to pay 60K for. they just mean you won't make nearly what a senior admin will make and they expect you to need some training. apply

Yep. They don't need someone with 5+ years of being a system admin of a big company, they want some kid that has a few certifications I bet.

Apply. Jr. admin skills are a) breathing, b) conscious at least 9 hours every day, and c) IQ >=90. You have nothing to loose, even if you don't get the job you might take away some interview experience at least.

I'd apply for sure. I had more responsibilities at my old job and I just considered an intern. I was the only intern with OU admin rights :coold:.
