    Hey guys!
I enlisted in the United States Air Force back on September 11th via swearing into the DEP! About a month passed until any of my jobs came up in the job generations. I was assigned my #1 job choice 1A0X1 an Inflight Refueling Apprentice! I leave for basic training on April 20th 2010! I just thought I would introduce myself here in Teh Barracks!

Congrats on your choice. Shouldn't be too hard, just study up abit on ranks / protocol and make sure your PT is good to go.

I have some touch ups to do on my push ups and I can do the 1.5 mile in under 11 minutes and situps= cake :) I think I am going to try for the Thunderbolt fitness standard of graduation, just because I can, I think it might be a bit of a push for top honors/ Warhawk on the run, but I am training 5 days a week.

Is there any good way to memorize the Airman's Creed or The Air Force song? I am having trouble memorizing that and I almost have my ranks down :) What do you mean by protocol?

af song is simple...I would just get both on audio if you can find them and keep playing them over and over.

or just record yourself and listen to it when you are just relaxing. I really did not get that prepared though I went to basic 10 years ago and things were quite different

1.5 mile in 11 isnt all that great so I Would work on that. I am nearly 29 and run low 10s.

I am also not an avid runner I guess it just comes natural to me.

Make sure you actually do the push ups/sit ups correctly

    BS on running 10's.

OP, if you're in 11's you're fine, by the time you take test at basics you will be g2g, prolly low 10's easily. I ran low 10, and I went in out of shape for the most part.

My shirt is requiring anyone who gets promoted to recite the creed in front of him...

When I joined in 2000, there was no creed, but when I rejoined in 2008 there it was.

Congrats on joining though! Keep that PT up! Also, the creed will be jammed into your head during basic.

    It sure will.

I just found out last week i have to be in my blues for the next promotion ceremony and recite the creed infront of the entire fucking wing. SUPPOSEDLY our shirt wants e-1 through e-9 up there with me (i'm e-3). Hopefully he doesn't back down from that so i don't have to do it alone, although i DO know the creed by heart..its just that whole public speaking shit :ugh2:
