GUN Joined the 1911 crew too

  1. I decided that I wanted a hobby that was cheaper than kart racing, so I decided to try out USPSA shooting. I planned on either the production class with a Glock 34 or the single stack class with a 1911. Since I shoot better with the 1911 I figured that I'd be best off going that route. AB13 pointed me towards Springer Precision as a source of a ready to go STI Spartan. This should give me a good place to get started and get some experience under my belt. Now all I need are the mags/mag carriers/holster.

It showed up today. Sorry that I don't have any sweet backgrounds. :hs:

it was good seeing you today MG, finally got a WMD'r to a match. Thank Laurel, I got some nice footage I'm editing as I type.

Scott Springer is not only an accomplished competitive shooter, but a genuine good guy that knows his way around a pistol. Anyhow, I'll introduce you to him when he comes up here in August. for everything he's done to the pistol, you got a good deal.

I've been through the STI factory. Bunch of great guys. :bigthumb:

  11. Thanks for showing me how the matches work. I'm definitely excited to come out and actually shoot. When I got home I ordered the rest of the stuff I needed (mags, holster, mag pouch.) I had a great time watching you guys.

I assume this pistol was bought new with all the stuff added from the factory? Nice pistola (that I'm sure you are gonna like), but damn that seems like a helluva lot of money for it.

  14. Yeah, it's brand new. Springer Precision did all of the modifications to it. I added it all up if I were to buy the pistol and then make all the modifications, it would have cost more than I paid, and that's not counting any of the labor.

I screwed up stage 2 and then dumped 5 rounds to shoot a steel target on 3 and was out of the running and placed 5th. :mamoru:

  16. I like the baby stroller stage.

Try to get June 21st off. That's when we'll have our next IDPA shoot at Renton.

yeah, that's the stage that buried me. Took me way to many shots for the steel and I was out of the running after that. I wasn't ready for this match. Not shooting for a month, can do that. And DAMMM was it hot today, fucking sun just zapped me.
