Joined a Gym today...suggestions for an unfit computer nerd?

    I just wanna lose some weight, ive started a diet and signed up to a local gym today, had my first session today, rode 17kms on a bike and jogged for 5kms.

    I feel really good after that although i will probably be sore tomorrow :)

    I wanna lose some weight around my waiste, any reccomendations of things to do to target that zone?

    Sorry, im a noob at this, ill fix servers or play guitar all day...ask me about exercise...no hope :)

    if you want to burn fat, use the elliptical machine after doing some light weight lifting. get hydroxycut or no explode or some kind of energy supplement with creatine in it to push yourself hard.

    i told him the name of the machine and what kind of workout as well as the name of the supplements.. seems pretty easy to understand to me.

    Get a personal trainer for a few sessions if you can. It's worth it for a gym noob.

    riding bikes and jogging are cardio.
    Cardio is good for "off days". Days you are not working out.

    If you seriously want to loss weight start building muscle.
    Get one of the trainers to help you get a routine going.
    Remember... its not about how much you are lifting its 100% about form.
    Do it right and dont get intimidated by the regulars at the gym.
    Stick with it for months and you will have their respect.

    Oh, and keep a fucken towel with you to wipe off the equipment after you melt your fucken fat all over it.

    Elliptical is the shit. Just make sure you do one session for 30 minutes going forward, then the next day you do 30 minutes backward, and you reverse each time. And after 3-4 times using it on your chosen resistance, move it up 1 notch, and every 3-4 days you go there, you move it up a notch. Each time you do this, you do it for 30 minutes non-stop and you make sure you have water. I would also suggest you stop being a pussy and let go of the side railings. It really improves your core balance and after a few sessions, you will be able to stride confidently without holding on. And for god sakes, have an mp3 player going.

    get some rob thomas into your ipod, dont talk while at the gym, work ur biceps for about an hour, get a real good deep burn. do about 1000 sit ups
