    Just wanted to throw this out to the OT community for any that might be interested or perhaps know someone else that may be looking for work in the network admin type of area.

    The company I work for is contracted by the government and is looking to fill spots at the Marine Corps bases located below:

    California:
    Camp Pendleton, Bridgeport, Barstow, 29 Palms, Miramar.

    Arizona:
    Yuma

    Also Hawaii and both Okinawa and Iwakuni Japan.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES


    The Contractor will provide the following resource types as a staff augmentation to support a Government-owned and Government-operated environment, in compliance with Government operating standards, policies, and directives, as outlined in Table 1 above. All personnel assigned to this contract will receive their daily direction and tasking from the local G-6/S-6 Division representative. The Government requires:



    2.1.1 Level 1 Network Administration. The Contractor will have following responsibilities:



    · Contractor shall provide initial contact with customer to resolve trouble tickets. This includes after-hours support.

    · Contractor shall configure, test, implement, and optimize portions of local area network (LAN), base area network (BAN), and wide area network (WAN) networks that enable and support business operations.

    · Assist in the evaluation, testing, and recommendation of hardware, software, and network configurations based on customer-defined strategy.

    · Design and implement strategies to migrate end-user devices and data.

    · Support design, development, and implementation of operational support standards and procedures relating to change management, performance management, and security.

    · Integrate third party vendor applications into the infrastructure and develop scripts for customization.

    · Implement Government-provided tools and documentation for operational teams to manage the platform.

    · Investigate, analyze, and recommend solutions to performance problems to optmize functionality, reliability, and/or usability.

    · Analyze network structure to evaluate stability of connections.

    · Analyze system service irregularities and disruptions and identify improvement/recommendations.

    · Act as a liaison between the groups, suppliers, and other technical groups to resolve network and hardware problems.

    · Manage client security-related issues.

    · Perform problem and task analysis and trending.

    · Configure the security infrastructure used to manage user access and protect the worldwide backbone networks.

    · In coordination with network engineering team, evaluate security features on network devices for integration within the applications.

    · Implement network technologies/router, switch, internet/ scripting/query languages.

    · Perform systems administration for organizational servers, including administering system-level security procedures; establish and maintain users’ accounts; assign file permissions; and establish password and account policies.

    · Under the direction of USMC Head, Network Systems Branch, G-6 Division, install, upgrade, configure, test, maintain and support network operating system and network application systems to include, but not limiting, Microsoft Windows WinNT, 2000/2003/2008, XP, VISTA and Exchange.

    · Perform automated and manual backup and restore processes.

    · Manage configuration and deployment of production disk and tape storage, as well as SAN switch devices.

    · Provide continuous monitoring and troubleshooting of multiple networks and associated peripherals.

    · Support technical staff in performing disk space management and disk storage administration activities.

    · Maintain documentation for installation and configuration of SAN hardware and software.

    · Report/respond to critical security events and take corrective measures per defined incident management processes.

    · Engage warranty service provider for hardware maintenance of network equipment as required.

    · Evaluate the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of documents and data throughout the network.

    · Troubleshoot to resolve issues with shared printing devices.

    · Assist network security and IA in vulnerability assessment personnel with patching and other information security procedures.

    · Maintain existing standard operating procedures for system administration operations.

    · Maintain operations of network performance monitors.

    · Monitor status of alarms, alerts, and devices.

    · Configure and deploy network enclaves as necessary.

    · Under the direction of USMC Head, Network Systems Branch, G-6 Division, assign network addresses and coordinate addresses based on available IP ranges.



    2.1.2 Level 2 Network Administration. The Contractor will have the following responsibilities:

    · Configure, build, install, tune, and operate GFE TACLANES, routers, switches, content switches, firewalls, and other supporting network and security related systems.

    · Research, analyze, recommend, and implement new technologies to support emerging requirements.

    · Provide the organization and BAN/LAN team with recommendations for the modification of existing technology for common transport technologies (BAN/LAN) with the majority of the most frequently used ones (MPLS, SDH/SONET, FR, ATM, PPP, DSL, Ethernet).

    · Provide recommendations for the configuration and implementation of major routing protocols (for example BGP, MP-BGP, ISIS, OSPF, RIP, RIPv2, EIGRP).

    · Provide recommendations for the configuration and implementation of common networking equipment including TACLANE, Cisco routers, Cisco switches, Cisco Wireless Access Points, Cisco Content Switches, CSUs/DSUs, Modems, Multiplexers, and exposure to other Cisco equipment).

    · Provide recommendations for the configuration and implementation of structured cabling systems, Cat5e, RJ-45/fiber patch panels, wall outlets, and multimode & single mode fiber optic cabling.

    · Assist in the design, development, implementation support, and optimization of infrastructure systems that enable and support business and/or engineering functions.

    · Conceptualize, construct, test and implement integrated network, hardware, and software solutions; distributed computing solutions; and/or physical and logical communications networks for the customer.

    · Review other infrastructure system designs to select appropriate technology, assess efficient use of resources, and evaluate integration of multiple systems and technologies.

    · Provide analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills related to BAN/LAN.

    · Provide input, as requested, to G-6/S-6 Division, regarding the technical direction of the project.

    · Test and implement integrated network; hardware and software solutions; distributed computing solutions; and/or physical and logical communications networks for the customer.

    · Monitor and assess Government-specified metrics for the resolution of performance issues.

    · Interface with others on system infrastructure problems and technical concerns.

    · Maintain appropriate network certifications based on current and emerging Department of Defense (DoD) Information Security (IS) and Information Assurance (IA) doctrine as well as promulgation of USMC specific policies and procedures outlining the protection of all information communication mediums. Implements and Enforces policies under the administrative control of Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC), and Joint Network Operations (NetOps) directives, orders and procedures under the operational control of the Joint Task Force Global Network Operations (JTF-GNO).

    · Train to and comply with resident command’s disaster recovery/ continuity of network operations plan.
