    what is he advocating?

i couldn't hear some of it, but what i got was basically "practice what you preach" and you cant learn anything from a book

is he just saying to just keep it old school and not worry about the science bs?

he's saying that it doesn't matter what program you use at all.. what matters is primarily your consistency and attitude/how hard you work.

people on this forum worry about such minor shit while missing the big picture of all that really matters regardless of your goal is doing it for a long time and working hard.

he's also saying that the most valuable tool is just doing something. people are fascinated with the amount of info on the net yet the net has contributed to people ignoring what works best.. experience.

dude you're a 180 fucking pounds. stop worrying so much about minor shit.

ohhhhh look big words. CNS adaptation... metabolic disruption. Christ Almighty. You think Kaz based his training on whether or not his CNS was adapted to some certain movement? You think Arnold worried about the metabolic disruption from changing sets and reps? No. they lifted heavy shit for as many reps as they could. then they put more weight on and lifted it for as many reps as possible. they ate. they slept. They did conditioning/cardio when necessary. This process was repeated until desired results came.

"The more I talk to athletes, the more convinced I become that the method of training is relatively unimportant. There are many ways to the top, and the training method you choose is just the one that suits you best. No, the important thing is the attitude of the athlete, the desire to get to the top."

when i saw the thread title, i thought jim would be bashing programs like..routines or something.

the title of the video should be something like "here's why you lack strong-mindedness"
it was more of a bash at the people like what jokka posted than programs itself.

I always had the same thinking, but there was a brief week or so when when I first started viewing this forum when I thought I should start studying up. I thought 'wow, check out the scientific shit this guy is spewing out. he must be fucking huge.' Was quickly put back onto the right path after viewing a post your pic thread, where most of these so called internet experts were either scrawny and weak or lard asses. I now read just for shits and giggles.:ugh:
