you'll open a whole can of worms by saying that.. I know such a comment about the video has starting some arguments on other forums.. but I agree.. how can you NOT shoot that guy once he goes for his gun and is blatantly disobeying your commands?

the cop was NOT in control of the situation, and its never good once the criminal takes control

It's a sad story, but there was no excuse for not defending himself.

The whole time he was like, "Put the Gun down.. put the gun down" I was thinking, "As soon as the guy was acting like that and then went for a gun in his truck, I would have shot"

It's was hard to watch at the end but he had a lot of chances to shoot that guy...

Hopefully nismotom has some comments about the video.

regardless of what the cop should have done, the guy left behind a wife and a daughter. i think its fucked up this video is even being played so often. who wants to watch a husband and father get brutally murdered?

prayers go out to his family, and may he RIP

lets stop talking about- what we would have done ( you're not a cop, you were not there, etc), and how the cop should have responded. sometimes lunatics with guns, can be calmed down without shots fired. maybe the police officer was waiting for him to calm down, didnt think he was going to shoot, etc.

:werd: He was totally unable to take control of the situation, if I was in his shoes I would tazed or oc sprayed the fucker shortly after he was totally uncompliant.

The cop should have never let it get to the point were a gun was pointed at him.

agreed. shots don't have to be fired. it was obvious there was going to be problems from the first time the cop told him to keep his hands out of his pockets and he flipped out. if he would have tazed or oc sprayed him the guy probably would have ended up sueing or some gay shit. i feel sorry for officers b/c of how fucked up the legal system is sometimes.

    wow...that was horrible

  23. The cop got himself killed, you could ask any law enforcement officer in this country and they would say the second they even saw him going for a weapon they would have used justifiable force.

Very true, but who knows how many of them would actually do it when the situation arrised. There's no way of knowing until you're actually experiencing something like that. I hope other officers in that position are able to make the decision, and go home. I know I PLAN to.

The more officers that see this video the better, IMO.
